The type of information I store about you

I only use the information I collect about you to support the services I am providing for you, and for administrative reasons.

I will only provide your information to others if you give your permission, or if I am legally required to do so, or in order to protect your vital interests, or to protect public vital interests.

How I store your information

I keep information on my computers and in a secure online storage service that only I can access using my devices. All my devices are protected with a password, PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition. Any paper records I hold are stored in a locked filing cabinet which only I have access to.

I need to keep this information for at least 3 years after I finish providing my services. After that, I will safely dispose of your information by permanently deleting electronic data and shredding paper records during regular clean-up sessions.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask me to rectify information that you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information that you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask me to erase your personal information.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your information.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that I transfer the information you gave to me to another organisation, or to you.

The fee for exercising your rights is £15, due to the administrative time taken. If you make a request, I will respond to you within 1 month. Please contact me if you wish to make a request.

If you are unhappy with how I have used your data, you can also complain to the ICO at the following address, :

Privacy: Your privacy is important to me, and anything we talk about during our sessions will stay between us, in line with my Privacy and Data Policy.  Insurance: I have the necessary insurance as required by the National Council for Hypnotherapy. Safeguarding: For anyone under 18, or a vulnerable adult not deemed Gillick Competent, I ask that a parent or another trusted adult be present during our sessions. Disclosure and Barring: I also hold an Enhanced DBS check for safety.   Training: SCCP (Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy)  Continuing Professional Development: I undertake regular professional development and am a Member of the National Society of Psychotherapists (NSPsy) and am an Hypno4Children Practitioner.  Disclaimer: While hypnotherapy can be very effective, everyone's experience is different and success is not guaranteed. The time it takes to reach your goals can also vary, but the best results happen when clients are fully committed to the process.
